Our Story

The Memory Kit was created by Jeff Gray and two co-founders: Susan Soper, a longtime journalist, and Jeff's dad, John Gray, a former CBS Television Network executive, who was the primary caregiver to his wife – and Jeff's mother, Molly Gray – for several years. Motivated and inspired by Molly's death, we realized and acted on the urgent need for a way to keep families, friends, and caregivers engaged in providing the best care for their loved ones.

Meet the Memory Kit Team

Jeff’s background is an unlikely mix of technology, philanthropy, and entrepreneurship. He sold his first company, Priority Valu-Check Systems, to RealEstate.com, has worked as a consultant to early-stage tech companies and served as an executive and board member of City of Refuge, an Atlanta-based nonprofit. His family’s journey with his mother’s Alzheimer’s disease sparked his desire to help others who find themselves caring for a loved one.

Jeff is the founder of AgeTech Atlanta and owner of Forever Home Solutions.

Jeff Gray | Founder and CEO

Susan Soper | Co-Founder and Storyteller-in-Chief

Susan’s passion as an award-winning journalist has been telling people’s stories. When her father died suddenly at 73, she realized first-hand the difficulty families face in telling their loved ones’ stories in obituaries and created the fill-in-the-blank workbook, ObitKit: Live. Love. Laugh. Cry. Write it down! Susan was a writer for Newsday and the features editor for The Atlanta Journal-Constitution and is excited to bring those skills to The Memory Kit.

John Gray | Co-Founder

John was married to Molly Martin Gray for almost 55 years before losing her to Alzheimer's disease in 2015. He grew up in Iowa, graduated from the University of Iowa and was drafted into the Army. Starting at TV Guide in Minneapolis, he pursued a career in television and worked for CBS Television for 32 years as a network sales executive, retiring as Senior Vice President of Business Development in 2003.
